Raimers Ranch is a Travis County Park located on the banks of the Pedernales river about 45 mins west of Austin, TX on Hamilton Pool Rd. It is locally known for having about hundred one pitch sport climbing routes. Which includes a cave with several nice ceiling routes. There is quite a few boulder problems as well. Most of the climbs are shaded year round throughout the early part of the day It is a great place to your skills at leading since climbs range from 5.6 to 5.14. Not as many climbs under 5.9 though.
All the routes are bolted well and maintained by Central Texas Mountaineers. Most of the routes have cold shut anchors at the top. Top roping is not encouraged due to dangerouse steep approaches from the backside of the walls. If you want to set up a TR the safest way is to lead the route first then set it up as a TR.
A 40-60M rope is sufficient for every route.
It is a day use park no overnight camping or glass containers allowed. If you get tired of climbing a dip in the cool waters of the pedernales is always nice or bring a fishing rod along. The park was first accesed by local anglers till it was discovered by local climbers.
Park is open 7 days a week sun up to sun down cost is $8 a car pay at the little shed before the house.
You can camp at nearby Pace Bend Park or stay in town at a hotel/motel or crash at a friends place.
